FORGOTTEN FRIDAY

Today's chosen chiller is Cold Harbour by Francis Brett Young

Originally published in 1924, the story unfolds as a young couple relate what they witnessed during an evening in Cold Harbour, an ancient house with a malignant reputation that their host coldly denies, while his wife is being driven to the brink of insanity. A subtle, atmospheric Gothic ghost story.

Trivia Tidbits: A prolific novelist, this was the only supernatural work Francis Brett Young ever wrote.
H.P. Lovecraft recommended Cold Harbour in his essay Supernatural Horror in Literature.
