Better late than never, today's tome is the time twisting Hawksmoor by Peter Ackroyd

Originally published in 1985, this postmodern historical novel relates the parallel stories of two men, separated by centuries...an 18th century architect of London churches and a modern day detective investigating gruesome murders in those very churches. A challenging and chilling work of dark literary fiction.
