A thinking person's horror/thriller. Hautala offers up an engaging mystery, where trauma, memory and lies hide a monstrous truth buried in a young man's past. Brilliantly told with admirable restraint, the author passed up the easy out of gore to amp up the tension to lethal levels.We lost Rick Hautala recently, and it is a shame that I am only discovering more of his excellent work now.
